Jay Lichtmann has asked me to post the link to his website. He has finally gotten it to the point he wants it at for now. He will be adding music time to time though.

Currently the site has 142 pieces of music that you may freely download and distribute. Here is the breakdown:

19 Trumpet Studies
16 Trumpet Solos
37 Pieces for Trumpet & MIDI
49 Brass Quartets (2 trumpets & 2 trombones with substitute horn parts)
21 Brass Quintets

http://uhaweb.hartford.edu/lichtmann

You should check it out.

The amount and quality of the work is amazing! What a gift, in every sense of the word!

I know what I'll be doing during my free time in the computer lab at school (instead of practicing)!

I found Jay's site about a month ago and I've been playing some of his music with the brass group I organize at my church. And all of those technical studies he has posted on there... they are great... I have many of them printed and in a binder that I use daily. It is very kind of him to post all of his work on the internet for us to enjoy. I hope he knows he is appreciated!

Old thread, but does anyone know what happened to this site? It appears to no longer be there, but I'm fairly sure I've visited it in the last year. Time flies, perhaps it's been longer than I think.

The reason that my site was taken down has to do with the University of Hartford discontinuing the http://uhaweb.hartford.edu/ server and switching over to: https://www.hartford.edu/

Also, I stopped teaching at the University In the Spring of 2015. Frankly, since I no longer had anything to do with the University, I was surprised that my site was still up and running as long as it was.

I have been fully retired since the Fall of 2016. I don't even own a mouthpiece anymore!

This site had posted a lot of my old stuff:

http://www.free-scores.com/Download-PDF-Sheet-Music-jay-lichtmann.htm

Looking at this thread which was posted in 2003 by my former student "Hazmat," I am pleased to note that the site was in operation for over 16 years! Considering creating the site was an afterthought on my part, an easy way to make my files available to anyone interested, I have been amazed that it was used by so many for so long!

Ditto! I have played many of them. Currently I am working on the Bach Partita BWV 1013, what an awesome piece for trumpet. I must have gotten it from free-scores.com.
