I have to say this has to be one of if not the best sounding C trumpet I have ever heard. Perfect balance between too dark and too bright and not too smokey or edgy etc......
I have never heard this guy play before but I will be keeping an eye out for more of his stuff.

I like that he points out what I am always saying about instruments should be able to help us get the sound we hear in our head out to the audience. He also mentions about intonation not getting in the way and he is talking about a C trumpet of all things. _________________ The only easy day was yesterday! |

That is too bad. I hate to see stuff like this. On the one hand living in Union Country I can understand the need for them. On the other hand I have seen such terrible abuses of power and corruption inside every Union I have had any interaction with.
I think it is a shame that so many people on both sides of the labor and management issue chose to under take the us vs them mind set. I have seen some fantastic examples of management not mistreating there workers so no Union was ever needed but it is the exception not the norm.
Even though I was taught how to break unions and such as part of my management training I have never used those skills.
Greed on both sides of this issue is what makes the work place so cut throat. _________________ The only easy day was yesterday! |

Can we delete these last three posts, including this one? Let's not make it a union rant.

No need to rant. It's just a fact. There are plenty of other threads about the MN Orchestra around if you want to get into that. I started one the other day.
Anyway, Manny - great musician, great trumpeter, great conductor, great guy. He just is.
Oh, great sound too... _________________ LA Benge 3X Bb Trumpet
