Wow! That's great news. I wish more orchestras would get some good donations, not just the top ones. Sometimes you have to start from the bottom, right?

The rich have gotten much richer, and like in the era of royal courts, the (top-tier) musicians will get richer too... |

Are they going to use some of this money to keep their principal flute?
I suppose if his leaving is at least partially a money issue.
Do they do that sort of thing with large gifts, shore up the pay for the key members of the Orchestra? |
