Check out one of Jeff Smiley's students. I think he is about 18 years age.

Hi Lloyd,

I can't seem to get the link to work ... could you double-check it and revise your post?

Thanks,

Steve

Very nice high A for someone of *ANY* age, let alone a teenager. Lloyd, I noticed in your signature that you own a Callet Symphonique in both Bb and C. I know this isn't the horn forum, but would you mind describing what they both play like and what sort of playing you use each one for? I have heard descriptions from other owners, but seeing as you own both, I thought you'd speak with some authority on the subject.

I think that it's worthwhile to bring this post back to the top!

In addition to all of the new equipment available... trumpets, mouthpieces, accessories (lubricants, Silent Brass, etc.), there have been VERY significant contributions made to the study of the trumpet embouchure. The Balanced Embouchure is one that is well worth checking out.

On this board, as well as others, players have commented on how quickly they have progressed, as a "Comeback Player". With maturity, despite the fact that we have the ability to focus on the task at hand a lot better, we are often challenged with the amount of time that we can devote to practice. Don't ya just hate it when your job gets in the way?

Jeff's approach, as documented in his Balanced Embouchure Book/CD, is a great asset to have when our practice time becomes a precious commodity. It IS something that can be done in YOUR time, and its benefits are cumulative.

The BE Forum is also beneficial, as we learn to implement the method into our playing. Reading about other people's struggles, and the solutions offered, is extremely helpful when time is of the essence.

I highly recommend checking it out!

Best always,
Bruce
