A shout out to Clay and Centex Brass.
A great source of used brass, especially trumpets, coronets and flugelhorns.
Clay is straight ahead and a real pleasure to do business with.
Among the best.

+1 to this! I traded in a horn and got a horn from them a few years back. Excellent communication, fair prices, I highly recommend them as well!

I've also had a long, successful relationship with Clay (a fellow Texan) at Centex Brass.

I've sold many horns on consignment with him, and have found him to be knowledgeable, reliable, honest and professional. (Also, trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent----well, maybe not obedient).

I became frustrated on one or two occasions when a buyer of one of my horns returned it. When selling a horn on my own, all sales are final unless there is some flaw that I didn't know about or something happened during shipment.

But even though I didn't get immediate gratification, I realize that Clay's no-questions-asked return policy has resulted in his great reputation, which in the long run attracts more buyers and makes sales go quicker and more smoothly.

I highly recommend buying or selling with him.

Same here. I can't recall a more honest and responsive dealer I've ever worked with. When discussing trades and consignments, Clay was very up front about the terms. Recently, he very generously sent me two horns to try, and when neither worked out for me, he issued an immediate refund. For those reasons, I keep an eye on his site for my next purchase.

+1

Bought an immaculate LA Benge with very fancy engraving from him a few years back. (Wish I still had it!) He was a pleasure to deal with.

10/10 trumpets from centex brass. The horn came perfect and clean and shipped quickly. Great selection.
