It's the MAW-Valve-Block:
http://www.jm-gmbh.de/html/e_meinlschmidt_maw_piston_valv.html

The best valves i've played in my trumpet life (have played Bauerfeind, Kanstul, Bach, Getzen), a good combination between the best of rotary systems and piston systems. The air flow is so focused and bindings are extremly tone-stable and easy.

The craftmanship of Martin Böhme is the best of "make a instrument withe the knowledge of Brass maker" and the interest of the newest technologies.

My finished project horn: 61 LB Martin
When I got it, the horn had Conn bracing, other incorrect parts as well as a badly damaged medium bore Indiana bell (cracked). I had a NOS LB Martin Committee bell lying around and had Landress Brass put it together. Sherry Huntley did the engraving.

Thank you!
Landress Brass did an amazing job in redoing this horn for me and it sounds really amazing. And Sherry..... she has the Martin engraving down! I believe she did the engraving for the Kenosha Martins as well as a few pre Kenosha Martins.
Because the bell is bronze and has a beautiful glow, I placed the horn in front of a painting my step mother did and added a Vieux Carre cocktail I just mixed up (and then promptly sipped!).

....and a really nice '47 LB Martin. I hope you will keep playing it!
They are great horns with a beautiful sound!
I also like the engraving on the Martin cornet you have in photo bucket.

On a side note, my trumpet teacher also has a large bore Martin and it is only two digits younger than mine! Pure coincidence I would pic a teacher who has the same horn and they probably were being assembled on the same bench. Sibling trumpets!

Here is a pic of my '56 and my '61 LBs.

Thanks and yes of coarse I will play it, Martins are very unique sounding and playing horns. There will always be room for mine to practice and perform.

Stunning

But a Conn brazing on a horn with a reversed lead pipe?

Yep!
The bell brace to the mouthpiece receiver was a Conn brace.
Both the lead pipe and the bell tail were bent in towards each other for the brace to work. The front bell brace looked like an Indiana brace and it was bent as well with the front of the bell bent towards the main tuning slide!

Cool!
Are you going to let them tarnish up a bit or...........

I really like horns that have that natural patina.
My flugelhorn was designed by Flip but it is not a WildThing.
I spoke with Flip a few times. He is a real gentlemen!
Really nice horns!

Some artsy shots of my own horns I've done for biz card backgrounds, etc.

I recently acquired a King super 20 artist that has to be seen to be believed . I'd love to share but have never done so. And would also like to add a pic to signature.
Thanks
Rod

Furcifer & cyber_shake

Love the curved bell like Dizzy Gillespie as well as the beautifully engraved bell!

For some reason they have ,or one I have has, a steel bell bead vs a brass wire. This will present significant problems if the end of the bell is damaged due to the different materials. I love the way mine plays but not the way it sounds although Jim Manley who showed me the horn sounds great on it (possible a slight difference e behind the mp haha) I am overly bright on it. I actually think Carol is making an awful lot of people happy and giving a 90 to 95% horn at 65 % prices tho the old 35% was better. How does that fit in the pictured case?
