I have not played on a regular basis for quite some time. I retired I 2016 after teaching band/string and classroom music for 34 years. I've planned on beginning a regular practice routine this fall. I spent a lot of the last year or so travelling so practicing had to be shelved for awhile.
I now find that we have no big travel plans until next spring. I was all set to start practicing again on a regular basis. I had to have emergency surgery this past Monday for a torn retina. I was told by the doctor to not do any strenuous exercise until after our follow up exam next week. I generally work out every day for 60-90 minutes. Right now the most strenuous thing I do is shave every morning and practice finger style ukulele.
Has anyone gone through this surgery? How much down time was involved? I would not be practicing any thing too strenuous as I have been off the horn for a while. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. |
