The OP might do well to get together with John (or any other qualified pro) privately for an hour or two with the specific goal of coming up with a set of fundamentals that the OP could then share with any interested and similarly motivated members of the section.
If the OP wants to do it with the school then it would need to be blessed by the school which indeed could require some diplomacy. _________________ "I'm an engineer, which means I think I know a whole bunch of stuff I really don't."

I agree that the OP may have a tough time selling having anyone come into the school to “fix the problems.” If he were to position it as having a credentialed clinician come in to give a master class he would probably have better luck. But if he takes the same “the teacher has messed up a bunch of students” approach.....good luck.
I’ve also noticed that since the original post on 11-11, the OP
has not responded to any of this. Sometimes someone pokes TH hornets nest with a stick, watches the activity for a while then gets bored.
