This question, I would assume, has been asked ad naseum but for the life of me a reasonable search turned up nothing in this forum area. So . .
Does anyone know the approximate Bach size of the formerly recommended DeNicola mouthpiece? Thanks. _________________ "If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn." Bird

About a 10.5 diameter.
Semi shallow, but no Bach cup shapes are equivalent.

Rod, I am not looking to have it reproduced, as there are a lot of good mouthpiece choices out there now.

And the perfect one for each of us as well.
Since we are on mp subject, what are your thoughts on larger throats, and achieving BE? Do they open up tone and fullness in upper range for some?

The typical experience of changing a hardware parameter, is that something gets better and something gets worse. In other words, there are trade-offs.
Plus, too often a lack of development is blamed on the horn or mouthpiece.
I had a student who ended up studying with Faddis. My student was concerned that his horn would not slot on a double B. Maybe he should get another one? Faddis, who hadn't played in two weeks, picked up my student's horn, and cleanly picked out the loudest double B that my student had ever heard. He decided to keep the horn.
There is no perfect mouthpiece or horn for you or anyone else. Most players do not know how to develop to their full potential, so they look for answers in the hardware.
That said, some experimenting with parameters is fine, as long as you don't get lost in gadgetry and experiments.
