Hello,
My name is Alfonso and I am new here. I have acquired a Denis Wick Classic 1.5C that was the equivalent of Bach 1.1 / 2c, but it feels much bigger in diameter, I am currently with a Yamaha 16c4 mouthpiece and I was in Bach 1-1 / 2c. I really like the sound of the mouthpiece Denis Wick and had thought of a Denis Wick Maurice Murphy MM3C, does anyone know if this model is closer to the diameter of Bach 1-1 / 2c or Yamaha 16c4 ?.
Thank you very much and sorry for my English, I am using a translator. |

Hello,
I am using a MM4C, which feels similar to my Stork Vacchiano 3E (~Bach 3C) in diameter.
I think you should try the MM2C (Denis Wick seems to be one size bigger than Bach). |

Hi Claf, thanks
So my question, according to the website of Denis Wick the MMc2 has 17.00mm which is the same measure of the classic Denis Wick 1.5c. The MM3c has (according to Denis Wick) 16.75mm. that's why I thought it might look more like Bach's 1-1 / 2c diameter. All this provided that the sizes of Maurice Murphy models match the classic models. Let's see if anyone has tried any MM2c or MM3c and takes me out of doubt.
Greetings. |

I forgot to mention I briefly tried the MM3C.
It felt a bit smaller than my Bach 1-1/2c I used previously, but the bite is so different between Bachs & Wicks that I think you should try both of them. _________________ Bb: Schagerl James Morrison, Van Laar B7, XO 1600i

Ok, so it seems that the one that approaches Bach 1-1 / 2 c is the MM2c. The Maurice Murphy nozzles are brighter than the classic Denis Wick and the Bach ?. The edge of the M. Murphy nozzles is wider and flat than the Bach ones, but I now tocco with Yamaya 16c4 which is wider too.
Thank you very much! Regards! |

The MM2C has a very low alpha angle so if you have any lip intrusion you may run into difficulties. I could not play cleanly on this mouthpiece when I tried it a few years ago. The Wick C cups are shallow compared to Bach. The Wick equivalents are really their B cups.
For information I measured the Wick 3 rim as 16.64mm. The Wick 2 was 16.98mm. The 2 is closer to a 1 1/2C Bach but is a bit flatter in rim profile. _________________ Bb - Scherzer 8218W, Schilke S22, Bach 43, Selmer 19A Balanced
