Anybody know anything about them or has played them? I've seen their videos come up on the Facebook trumpet BST pages, and looking at their website their horns seem pretty cheap (less than $1k). Their website is pretty thin on details, specs, where they're made, etc. What's the deal here? I mean, are they just cheap Chinese or Indian imports? Not finding any threads on TH about them.

I keep seeing posts pop up about them on Facebook but it's mostly soft-ad's - someone posting and/or sharing a glowing review video, usually by solid but not spectacular players.

It's the sort of thing I'd never drop money on blind, but I suppose some people must do or how would they be in business? (I mean, if relying on online adverts for sales, they must be getting atleast some?!)

There are two bands, Galileo, made at the Egger factory in Switzerland, and the Galileo Dolce, made in... ???

All I know is I have seen what look to be their designs in other places...

cheers

These are NOT the same as the Galileo horns, such as the joolio and other great rotaries.

Not even close

The curvs and roundings of these trumpets look a lot like the ones on Fides trumpets.
mmmm ... I think I know who inspired who

Not sure about the production, but the fellow that seems to run the site, Tamir Akta, lists his office in Israel, and it looks like he teaches at a music center in Raanana, Israel. I see that one of their "performing artists" is from Romania, so perhaps that's what homebilly saw.

OK. No one noticed 'cupronickel' or 'phosphor copper'? It tells me the factory may well be somewhere way to the east...

Maybe they forgot to add a zero (0) in their prices!?

I see Howard Engstrom's name as an "artist." I also see you can get a B-flat or C trumpet gold plated for only about $75 more than the silver plated version! Man, I wish we could do the same here in the States! There is a note about Shipping is $125 to the U.S. Oh, a gold plated mpc is $175. At least that looks kind of normal to me.

Wait. Note...
"warning:
Brush gold & Matt plating are delicate ,and react to hand sweat and friction"

So this is the Galileo Dolce trumpet line, which, according to this site, is located in Italy.

https://www.galileodolce.com/trumpets.html

Here is the (other) Galileo Brass trumpet website, which is located in Switzerland, has been discussed on TH over ten years ago (search "jooleo"), and has much higher pricing:

Yeah, I don't know. It all seems a bit confusing. The pricing didn't make sense to me for it to be actual gold plating. And I'm not finding a ton of information on the "artists" listed on their site.

The website says the office is in Israel, but that there is a distributor in Italy (http://brass-son.com/). When I looked up that distributor's address, Google Street View just showed a blank door with no sign or storefront. So it seems like even the distributor doesn't have a storefront where you could see the horns in person.

I just sent an email to Howard Engstrom, asking if he could offer a comment that I could post here. His bio and contact info are actually on the link from the artists list.
------------
Interesting things to note below. The website <https://www.galileodolce.com/trumpets.html> has this:

To buy an instrument please fill up this form and we will send you a secure link for credit card payment
you can also secure your payment through the instrument link.
In the ID owner card please enter nine times the no.zero (0)
production time is up to 30 business day
shipping time 10-12 days
Country taxes will be paid by the buyer
warning:
Brush gold & Matt plating are delicate ,and react to hand sweat and friction .
------------
The 30-day manufacturing time reminds me of my brief exposure when I ordered a few Chinese horns 20 months ago to test and use in some experiments with working on trumpets.
------------
Also:

Optional Colores:
Gold Lacquer
Nickel plated
Matt Lacquer

Silver plated
Gold Plated
Brush gold
——————
They clearly make a distinction between gold lacquer and gold plate (and brushed gold plate). To get that low in their gold plate cost, all of this has to be done where the prices are super low, which leads me to believe to be in China or India.
——————
They have a cool-looking case on this page:

https://www.galileodolce.com/galileodolce-de-vinci-model.html

…looks to be cordura-type fabric, btw.

That’s with the…

Premium Kit Include :
Luxurious case
Heavy trim kit 9 pieces
Golden mouthpiece ( 5C 7C 3C 1.5C )
for the price of 190$
——————
They have other instruments:

I see links to saxophones and clarinets.
——————
And of course their main page states that they are looking for distributors…

https://www.galileodolce.com
——————
Galileo Dolce is looking to expand, and with these endorsements and demonstrations, they may have a product worth investigating further. Personally, if I could free up the money, I might buy one before a U.S. distributor puts some money into these and they double or triple in price.

In some ways, it's kind of refreshing to see lower prices like these, and reminds me of the Sonare brand that lasted a few years (and of which I was fortunate to pick up a used C trumpet a few weeks ago in the TH Marketplace...great horn!).

I see the confusion with naming their trumpet line “Galileo Dolce,” especially after another company with a considerably higher price tag and with a similar name “Galileo Brass,” has been in the business for some time. This is reminiscent of the Adam Rapa and the "Lotus Trumpet" thread this past year and confusion with "AR Resonance Trumpets" (owned by TH member "anrapa").

Maybe someone should start a new trumpet line called "Yamahaha."

Okay, I think I may be honing in on the likely scenario... I'm thinking these may be Chinese horns and it may follow the sort of "drop-ship" business model that you see across Facebook a lot now. It's possible that it has the large lead time in shipping because it may be drop-shipped straight from China. I have a friend that has a drop-ship Shopify business and they have similar turnaround times and they buy goods through Alibaba and AliExpress...

Case in point... https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/high-quality-GTR-1880-trumpet-with_60544447967.html?spm=a2700.7724838.2017115.45.1fc91efd44uQwJ

https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/GTR-880-trumpet-with-high-quality_60544351978.html?spm=a2700.7724838.2017115.433.1fc91efd44uQwJ

Not that it's a knock against them or anything, but I think that may explain some of the confusing aspects of their horns, where they get them, the lack of specs, etc...

Chinese horns and, imo, deliberately named like the high end Galileo horns. JinBao standard is my guess. Pass.
