|
|
I have several Curry mouthpieces and am wondering about the 5c. When I blow air through any of my Curry mouthpieces (3c. , 3m, 3 star, 5m, 5 star, 60m) or my Bach 3c they are all free blowing however, when I blow air through my Curry 5c it feels restricted. These all stock mouthpieces.
I'm just wondering if anyone else has noticed this with the Curry 5c. |

If they are all stock Curry models, then they all have the exact same throats and back bores _________________ Schilke X3 Bb trumpet

I have a 5C and like it. I have not noticed any problems. _________________ "If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn." Bird

I play a Curry 5C, and it does feel restrictive some days. On those days I know that it's me, and that it's chops-rehab time. No, it's not any more restrictive than my 3C-dot.
I can see three possible causes:
1) You are approaching it differently than the other pieces.
2) It's full of gunk.
3) Mark made a mistake.
I think that #2 is the most likely - but the other two are definitely possible.

Or the shank is slightly out of round, resulting in a different gap with this piece. |

Maybe a "bad" piece? My experience is exactly the opposite: i find a bit restrictive the 3C (dot) and more free blowing the 5C (i think because of the rim). My favorite Mark Piece so far is the 5B and i have a custom heavy one with standard drill and different bbore that is a killer piece. _________________ ------------------------
