I think you'll get better results with correct terminology. That looks to me like a "gig bag" not a "case". _________________ "If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn." Bird

That definitely helps. |

Made by Stomvi - or for them... Gig bag. Nothing special, just a good way to keep your tech in fine wine and French cheeses! _________________ so many horns, so few good notes... |

Andy,
I couldn't find anything even close to this on their website. Do you have a link? Or how did you know it was Stomvi? |

Look at their logo and the faint traces (which have rubbed off) where the red line is.
It's a gig bag. Any one will allow us to damage our instruments quite easily!
cheers

You don't need a fancy bag. Just throw it in a pillow case and go on your way. |

Awesome. Thanks guys. I'm a little pessimistic I'll be able to purchase one new, but you never know. At least I know what to look for! |

Just get any gig bag, who cares who made it? As Stomvi now seems to outsource their cases, I reckon that ship sailed many moons ago.
I have a reunion blues cornet gig bag I purchased on 1984/5. Still works, but I rarely use it.
cheers

I just call them 'dent bags' since that's closer to what they do. _________________ "Music is like candy, you throw the (w)rappers away." |

Ref all the dissing of gig bags, I have used them for half a century and have never put so much as a scratch on my horns. Depends on where and how you use them. _________________ "If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn." Bird

I was one of those guys who always said gig bags are too risky, and they certainly can be. But recently I’ve been using a Cronkhite leather single, and I believe if you are careful they can provide adequate protection. I tend to use it more for gigs that I’ve played before and know what to expect regarding the stage, what kind of place it is (odds of drunken patrons), etc.
I’m one of those people who is always really careful whether my horn is in a hard case or gig bag (and nobody handles my stuff but me), and while a hard case no doubt provides better protection in many cases, a quality gig bag can be safe. There are no guarantees with either a case or bag, but the light portability of a bag can be valuable.
And it had not occurred to me previously that I’ve used an older Reunion Blues leather flugel bag for years with no problems; I believe I had not thought about that because I don’t use a flugel on every gig.
