Does anyone out there have access to these two models? I was wondering if the cornet receiver pipes from the 9835 would work in the 9830; I know there was a change in the tuning bit to valve pipe, but wondered about interchangeability between lead pipes...
Thanks in advance...

Hi, I have a 9830 and bought two blackburn pipes for 9835. The two blackburn pipes had slightly thinker tubing than my stock 9830 pipe, so I had a hard time pushing the blackburn pipes in and out. I took the pipes to my shop and had them buff/polish the pipe to make it thinner. Now it's great. I hope this helps.

Yes, the 9835 Cornet receiver pipes will work in the 9830. I’ve always played trumpet shank, but tried out the cornet receiver a couple months ago, didn’t notice enough of a difference to switch, but could definitely be useful if you’re used to playing cornet shanks. _________________ Hunter Eberly
