I've shared before on "local" trumpet finds from here, which are usually Carol, Jupiter, Berkeleywind, and assorted mystery instruments. The local version of ebay has a trumpet for sale under the brand "Grace" in a copycat Monette-style. I hadn't heard of this before and on the bell is looks like it says CTR with several digits after it. I wonder if it's a local distribution for Carol or Phaeton or something like that. I'm not planning on buying it but was curious if anyone recognizes it. The seller says it's made in China.

These appeared at ITG in Sydney in 2010. 'Meh' is the best way to describe them. they had various models. A good example of a Chinese factory attempting to imitate others' design looks, but not the actual design or workmanship.
cheers

I thought it kind of seemed overpriced. They said it was around 1800 originally and they were selling for 900. I was curious if anyone had seen this exact brand before (Grace?). I've seen Phaeton and Berkeley Wind that look similar, but they were cheaper. This one also had the same bell code that Carol uses. |
