Hello!

I'm new to this forum and wanted to present myself. So I'm Jean-Philippe, I'm musician (trumpet player of course) and I will ask you to forgive my English because I'm French..!

I've already read a lot of interesting stuff and I'm very happy to be here!

Welcome.

I very much admire people who have managed to learn a second language well enough to converse in it. I learned Japanese, but have not spoken it in years and am afraid I am no longer conversant in that language.

Any defects in your English will be excused.

Warm regards,
Grits

It's the internet. Any defects will blend in with native speakers!

Regardless...

Bienvenue d'un autre "newbie"! (Not sure how that would be said in french.)

Welcome au nouvel arrivant! (Plus usuel que nouvel arrivé, qui est cependant correct grammaticalement)
Jean-Philippe, what kind of music are you playing, where?
Ah, I forgot: if you want to stay alive in this forum, never ask these questions
- do you think Bach trumpets are the best?
- do you think Monette trumpets and mouthpieces worth the price?
- do you think I need to arch the tongue to play in the high register?

If you follow these simple rules, even your English (and mine) will be forgiven.

Hello!

Haha I'll try to remember it, even if I don't think Bach are the best!

I play in a military wind band (Pompiers de Paris), and apart of this I do mostly classical music (symphonic orchestra mostly) . I do some chamber music too with a percussionist.
