Does anybody have a workable link for a free download of a public domain version of the St. Jacome Grand Method for Trumpet or Cornet?

The links I've tried all keep generating virus warnings. I need a useable, virus free link.

I'm not trying to cheat anyone. I already have a hard copy that I legitimately bought. It's just that scanning it is difficult for me physically and I can print out an internet version pdf easier. Thanks.

Try this: https://archive.org/details/newmoderngrandme00sain

The link came off Pops McLaughlin's page and archive.org is legit.

I just did a web search myself.

Pops McLaughlin has a link from his site, bbtrumpet.com.

Look under his blog, Trumpet Tips, articles.

He has linked the Boston Public Library, which seems to be a pretty safe site.

I downloaded a copy to see how it worked and it was uneventful, no virus warnings.

Good luck!

TYVM

This isn't all of the volumes that we know but it is a good start.

ps. You aren't stealing if it is in the public domain.

Maybe there should be a sticky for books like Arban, Clarke, St Jacome etc.?

Got one folks, thanks. Saved me a lot of awkwardness.

I would really have a difficult time handling this big volume but can now download several pages at a time instead of trying to navigate the large book altogether. (Am using it in conjunction with Claude Gordon's method.)

Thanks again.

Thank you. This will be a lot more convenient on the ipad than hauling around that giant paper copy, or spending a week scanning it all myself.

What I did was buy the book and took it to the local college. They cut it down and bound it in seven sections. That way the pages stay open and if you are working on a couple studies at one time in different sections its great.

I did the same with Arbans

I know you said you wanted a free download of it, as you have already purchased a physical copy. But qPress also has a digital version for sale. It will be a lot cleaner than the scan above.

FWIW I took my St Jacome's to a Kinko's who sawed the binding off and cut too deep and sliced into the staves making many of the exercises hard to use. I was seriously torqued but it's not like there's any way for them to fix it. It pains me to replace the book since it has all my old teachers notes in it.
