I have a question about a Besson 2-20 trumpet that I figured one of you guys would be able to answer for me. Do these horns have a different taper in the mouthpiece receiver? I just cleaned one up for a friend whose son played it back in the 70’s. It has a Mendez #2 mouthpiece in the case, but it’s kind of wobbly when inserted into the mouthpipe. I tried several of my trumpet mouthpieces and they fit the same way, so I figured the taper must be different. Regardless of the ill-fitting mouthpiece, it seemed to play pretty well, which is what my friend was hoping for. She would like to donate it to The Salvation Army but wanted to make sure it was a worthy instrument before doing so. I thank you in advance for you input.
