So, I was digging through my iTunes library, and found something labeled "Track 11", and that's all the information I have about it. I'm trying to clear out needlessly accumulated music, so, intending to delete it after giving a quick listen, I put it on, and it's a beautiful solo for trumpet and orchestra, and great playing. Clearly I'm going to keep it.

But I don't know who the composer, soloist, or orchestra are. Can anyone help ID anything?

Here it is:

Thanks!

That is really superb! Have never heard the piece and have no idea who is playing, couldn’t even venture a guess. It blows me away how good it is!

(No, I didn't know. I asked a friend and he knew it off the bat.)

Awesome! Thanks! Out of respect to copyright, I've taken the Youtube link down, but it was: Concerto for Piccolo Trumpet, Strings & Harpsichord: II. Go Deeply Now Everlasting. By Allan Gilliland, Ryan Anthony - trumpet soloist.

It's great! I don't know how that ended up in my iTunes directory, but I'm going to buy the album.

Thanks for this post. It's always great to hear something new (to me) and performed so well.

After listening to this beautiful piece I searched and found he has his own Youtube channel..........Looking thru his material I then remembered reading of his very motivational story of his battle with cancer a couple of years ago. An amazing player and person!

This is amazing! Really reminds me of Quiet City by Aaron Copland, particularly the Wynton Marsalis version.

You should hear his rendition of Saint Gregory's Prayer. It is the best.

I heard Rolf Smedvig play the Prayer For Saint Gregory in concert once and it was so beautiful it practically brought tears to my eyes.
