I found an old Deg Dynasty Soprano Two Valve G Bugle when cleaning out my storage unit the other day.

Is there anyone out there using these things?

Playing them? Collecting them? It's surprisingly in really good condition and I'm wondering if it's worth holding onto (maybe to give to my nieces when they are a bit older) or if someone else might have a better use for it. #memories

I believe that only a rare alumni or nostalgia group would play these nowadays. If at all. The Marine Drum and Bugle Corps plays 2 valve G bugles. A custom Kanstul set of bugles.

I bought one shortly into my comeback, just for nostalgia and to have a baseline instrument to compare myself now and then.

I think I read somewhere that many of these instruments are finding their way overseas, that there is a circuit in Japan where G instruments are still required. I have no idea if that is true.

These days, even an alumni corps is reaching the point where members from almost 20 years ago would have marched with Bb instruments. But there are certainly folks that will buy one in good condition. A soprano should pull in $200 give or take.
