Craig Morris' premier solo album is now available on the Naxos label and it is full of beautifully played music.

Available HERE

Album information from the Naxos Website:

Permit Me Voyage
Trumpet Transcriptions: Morris, Craig
Works by: DEBUSSY, C. / SCHUMANN, R. / BRAHMS, J. / BARBER, S.

Craig Morris has transcribed four major works for trumpet and piano in this voyage of sonic discovery, reclothing them in new textures and colours. An original arrangement of Debussy’s beautiful Suite Bergamasque is followed by transcriptions of Schumann’s Fantasiestücke and Brahms’s Sonata for Clarinet (or Viola) and Piano, Op. 120, No. 2. The Schumann and Brahms were originally conceived for multiple instruments, and Morris has created these versions from the same mould. The recording closes with the richly romantic Four Songs by Samuel Barber. Ex-principal of the Chicago Symphony, international soloist and chamber musician, Craig Morris can also be heard on the première recording of Thom Sleeper’s Concerto on Naxos 8.570465.

I suggest anyone who loves music and trumpet playing purchase this CD. It is among the finest solo trumpet albums.

~A.

Don't overlook that you can sign up for free at the Naxos website and have a listen to the first minute of each track for no charge. You can also subscibe on a monthly/yearly basis and listen to the whole catalog as you wish.

If you are at a university, you very well might have access to this cd and the whole catalog for free. (My friend in the music department at Northern Arizona can access it.)

See here for details:

The Naxos website is always slow on my computer.

Amazing performance and recording!

What trumpet(s) did he use to play those pieces?
