For a cornet, 0.462 is not considered a large bore. |

Mabe ML+ bore but the Getzen 3850 is .462 and mentioned as LB horn in their site.

Sure? I could not find that. they call the 0.464 option large bore with the Eterna 800. Maybe it's a marketing attempt of Getzen to promote them for BBB where large bore cornets (0.470) are dominant. IMO the bore sizes of cornets are not behaving like that of trumpets. My opinion is that 0.460 for cornets is medium bore, 0.462 to 0.465 is ML and 0.468 and up is large bore. Something like that, it's not scientific. Another weird thing is that with trumpets the C trumpets are mostly large bore, but C cornets are mostly 0.459 and 0.460. Anyway congratulations with the Lawler, 0.462 is good for trad. |
