I know it to be the case with Curry 3's depending on a "." or something like that, but does vintage make much of a difference with Curry mouthpieces like it does with Bach mouthpieces?

I have a Curry 5C I bought used a while back and I think the markings might be a little different to modern Currys.

From the Curry web site:

"** Note: All Curry 3 rim sizes now have a dot (.) after the size. This is the current 3 rim profile offered since 2004. The older 3 rims (no dot) are available as special order only. The (.) dot rim has proved to be even more popular than the old 3 rim profile. This rim is also based off of an older Mount Vernon rim and is more compatible to today's 3 rim player looking to switch to Curry 3 rims."

Only applies to the 3 series.

I bought a 3FLD for my flugel and love it, so I picked up a 3C and 3TC for my trumpet. So far, I am not a fan compared to Bach. There are some nice notes in the Curry 3s but I can’t keep it consistent. The Bach is consistent, it’s good notes are not as good as the good Curry notes but they all sound like they are coming from the same player. Had them for about 3 months so I have not given up, yet.
