Yesterday evening I exchanged some messages with Jordan Hoffman regarding a really nice video he posted recently. We got into a discussion about how a trumpet works and I slapped some notes together for him. I decided this could be my blog for the week. I did some edits and fixed some dumb typos and just published it. Realize, this is very much a thumbnail sketch of what is going on. I am often asked to do physics of music/trumpet lectures at a couple of area universities around Chicago and I do full blown clinics complete with live demos of all of this. I takes over an hour to really get it all out there, but I find it to be a lot of fun.
