I'm interested to see what you all out there might suggest for some collections of simple hymn arrangements for trumpet and piano/organ (or other music appropriate for church). I'm looking for arrangements that sound great and are relatively easy to put together in a short amount of time. Thanks!

I got those from Phil Smith's store. They came in a hand-addressed envelope, and each was signed and dedicated with a scripture verse! Woo!

Some of the arrangements are heavy on fanfares and celebratory. A few are meditative, which I gravitate towards.

If you have a C trumpet or can transpose, you could look at the "Oxford Solo Songs - Sacred" https://www.jwpepper.com/10162369.item

Both Kaiser and Long both wrote great books that might be useful for you. Here are links to anyone who needs descants or solos for church use:

Newell Long Devotional Solos

and

Daniel Kiser 100 Hymnal Descants

I have used the "Great Hymns" and "More Great Hymns" the last few years for church. Those are great books. Does anyone have another play along book for church hymns that are on that level?

Mozart's Laudate Dominum works well in a church setting. I just played it this weekend. Here is a link to the keyboard arrangement with voice, and B-flat trumpet transcription of the voice part.

https://starkadder.net/laudate/

The score is from IMSLP, and thus is in the public domain. The transcription is my own.
