Ibrahim Maalouf and Wynton Marsalis at Jazz at Marciac. I discovered Ibrahim Maalouf several years ago and really dig his stuff. Cool sounds, cool horns, cool instrumentation...cool video. If you don’t know anything about Ibrahim, look him up on Wikipedia..he has quite a classical pedigree as well. NTC, Maurice Andre competitions, etc. Enjoy.

Wasn’t Ambrose Akinmusire in the section ? _________________ Mikel Dupac / LawlerC7 / CarolBrass flugelhorn + pockets / Olds Super / Conn New Wonder cornet / Music is the healing force of the Universe
Love it, this is the kind of stuff we do all the time in my ethnic band, nice to hear it on a bigger stage!
-Maalouf is quite a player, he sets a very high bar.
-The 4-valve quarter tone trumpet he’s using is sweet, and he’s clearly mastered it.
-Strangely gratifying to hear Wynton sounding like he’s actually having to “work” to make the horn speak how he wants. I don’t think I’ve heard him face a musical challenge in years, if ever, but this sounded like it put him to the test, very cool...
