We had a nice flight yesterday out here to the west coast in San Diego, CA to the military base. My wife and I are visiting our daughter, son-in-law, and SEEING OUR BRAND NEW BABY GRANDDAUGHTER!!

This photo is sooooo awesome!!! I am holding my granddaughter for the very first time, while a little scruffy, unshaven, etc... (hey, I'm on vacation!) and she is looking right at me!

CAPTION:
Granddaughter: "Hi Grandpa! Mommy told me that you are a trumpet player!"
Me: "That's right sweetie! You will play trumpet too once you get old enough!"

Since you're out here, take a look at HornTrader.com to see if anything strikes your fancy. You can make an appointment with Steve and get to play some fabulous horns.

Back home in Virginia...

San Diego, CA was beautiful. We visited the San Diego Zoo, and my son-in-law and I went swimming in the Pacific and even "body surfing" in 6-7 footers too, at the big beach in Mission Bay!

I have a bunch of photos and will try to upload a few...

Also while in San Diego, my son-in-law and I visited a beer brewery company called Ballast Point. Lord, did we indulge in some beer while on vacation...
