If you buy it from a shop you can probably swap the mouthpiece in the case for any size you want at the time of purchase.

7C is what every horn I saw for years came with -- except mine. It came (in 1974 IIRC) with a Bach 6, which I dearly loved and kept until one of my sons borrowed it and lost it on a school gig.

I purchased a Bach Stradivarius 37 back in 1971. It came with a 7C mouthpiece.

Had I not started reading TH, I'd probably still be playing that mouthpiece today. After a safari that lasted a couple of years (and occasionally recurs in intermittent spurts), I have pretty much settled on a Curry 3 rim for all of my horns.

Warm regards,
Grits

In the mid-nineties, I bought a Bach C from Woodwind-Brasswind. The salesman on the phone said that the horn came a Bach 7C, but he would be happy to swap it out for any other Bach mouthpiece.

Since I was playing a 1.25C at the time, I requested another 1.25C.

That was the first LARGE engraving I saw on a Bach mouthpiece. And that 1.25C was completely different from the 1.25C small letter Bach I had been using that I thought it was bogus.

Thank to all the original Strad owners judging from all your players input although the Bach Stradivarius. Is a professional instrument the 7C can be used in that setting but that is just one person's opinion In any case thanks for sharing and thank the TH memberh
