I was surprised that they pimped up the good old 6335 series! Two piece bell, reverse lead pipe, one piece valve section, looks like Yamaha got inspiration by Getzen Eterna

Yamaha makes exceptional hons. Why wouldn't this be one too?

Getzen makes exceptional horns as well; why wouldn't Yamaha just copy the Eterna and 'improves' it?

I don't think the Getzen Eterna has anything to do with the new Yamaha Commercial trumpet.
If I understood well it's designed by the Yamaha atelier in Hamburg.
That same atelier was responsible for another 6335 specialty horn with a two piece bell and a reverse leadpipe: the 6330B, the Till Brönner horn.
So I presume it has more to do with that horn than with an Eterna.
New is the new valve casing, the brace in the tuning slide and the material of the leadpipe and the bell. (goldbrass).
BTW the Brönner horn was IMO a very nice horn.

I've played a Yamaha 6335 just once, but was amazed at how nicely and easily it played. I've been considering getting one as a backup horn. This adds some interesting elements to that horn. I expect it will have a warmer sound with the gold brass elements. I played a Yamaha YTR 4335S for a number of years -- It has a gold brass bell, and it had a really warm sound that I have kind of missed since I moved on to a freer blowing horn. Would love to try one of these.

...is the following feature new to trumpet building?

"bell connection ferule [sic] with gap"

I know that this ferrule is the connection piece from the 1st valve casing to the bell. Does it mean that there is a segment of inner tubing that is not "butted" up to the bell, and if so, what kind of result might this bring to the blow?

I could be wrong, but I think this was a feature on the Roger Ingram horns as well. (I used to own one but I forget the details.) Lord only knows what it does to the sound and response but certain models have featured a "gap" between the bell and valve block.

Here is a thread where James Becker discusses:

Thanks, Turkle! If I had only removed the word "butted" from my search criteria...!

Medium.

Wouldn't that be the same as standard? Light, medium, heavy.. so the middle would be standard?

Hope it will be available in the US!

Unfortunately it doesn’t look like these horns are available in the USA or if they will ever be available here.
