I'll be playing "My One and Only" in the spring. All I know about it is it's mostly Gershwin tunes, one trumpet with piccolo double.

Anyone have more detailed info on that show?

Thanks!

Ok, I dusted off some remaining brain cells. I played the first national tour, (revival?). There is a big trumpet solo in the overture. You hold out a top space G all by yourself until it gets the audiences' attention. Then you play a short written out playable cadenza that leads to a trumpet solo of a ballad for two choruses.

There was a sustained high F at the end of a swing tune. A rip stortin' ending, nothing to worry about. A few awkward Ebs. No pic back then.

Fun show. Very playable with legendary Gershwin tunes.

Cheers,

Gordon Stump
