I'm playing in a pit for Dreamgirls at a local school in a week-ish. Anybody played this book before? What should I expect range/equipment/mute wise?

Any advice would be great - thanks!

i used to sub it on Broadway; if I remember right the lead book has 26 Hi D`s in the overture; Some great writing through out the show and some really fun stuff..But make sure to bring both lips!

I've only played one rehearsal of the show - these are my notes:

3 parts
I & II together, III separate
Bb & flugel on all three.
Straight & Harmon only.
Lots of Es (many unison w/2nd), Ebs & Ds
LOTS of music. This isn’t an opera, but there are only a few short "dialogue only" sections.
Hand-written copy. For the most part it’s very clear.
