I am looking for a project on an old trumpet
This kind of old trumpet. According the wick catalogue 1x was patterned after Wallace. Are those mouthpieces similar?

I have owned both. The Yamaha rim was narrower - to me. Otherwise they were similar types of mouthpiece. The Wick was less bright, probably due to the heavier weight. _________________ Bb - Scherzer 8218W, Schilke S22, Bach 43, Selmer 19A Balanced

The story I heard was that as a young trumpet player he went to see the widow of John Solomon, who had been prinicipal trumpet of the LSO. She gave him one of her husbands old F trumpet mouthpieces and this is what these mouthpieces are derived from. It also explains why they were so big by the standards of their time. _________________ Bb - Scherzer 8218W, Schilke S22, Bach 43, Selmer 19A Balanced
