hello
glad to know things got better for you
just an advice : skype lessons are better than nothing, but a live lesson would be way better.
If you can, meet Bobby Shew when he's in your area or visit him to NM.
i can tell you that i studied with him for 2 weeks in 1993, couples of lessons in 2001, so i know his approach; last month i organized a masterclass for 2 days with him, and we did a concert. I was translating his masterclass, so i was more "working" than having a lesson.
But, even if i know his approach and teaching, in the way back home driving, after these 5 days with him, several things clicked, and i felt them while fluttering and lip buzzing, which i'm used to.
And coupled with the tweak he did at my horn made my playing way better and easier.
so, sometimes, the knowledge, teaching, mastery, approach of a master is crucial, but the live contact with the person is too.
