Dear all,

as some of you might have noticed, I posted a few months ago with a strange sensation in my face. That hasn't gone away, but I have had a severe throat problem, tight tongue root and a high larynx. I've seen an Ear Nose and Throat doctor who has confirmed that there's no visible damage. I just have lots of muscular tension in my shoulder, neck, throat (swelling as I play), as well as strange muscle twinges in the face, particularly the left side of my jawline directly below the corner of my eye.

I'm looking for a teacher with a good physiological knowledge of brass playing who can help me rebuild my technique in a less strenuous manner. Preferably someone in the UK, but Skype could work. I've seen Jeanne Pocius' name around for this sort of thing, was thinking of giving her a call, but any recommendations welcome!

Cheers,

Fred

Hi Fred

There's a PM for you. For others, this sort of thing a muscular issue and physiotherapy might be part of the solution. But a GOOD one, but your average Joe. I am thinking of one who works at the elite sports level of with professional dancers, singers, etc...

cheers

Andy

hello
with my association, we take care of such problems (we are pro musicians, doctors, athletic trainers, yoga teacher, physiotherapists etc.), but we are in France.
You can PM me if you need...
good luck

Best
