Evidently I pulled a neck muscle while playing a long gig. I was also playing loud and high when it happened. It is now difficult for me to play above a fourth space E without feeling pain. I’ve been to a doctor, am doing some physical therapy but it is taking a long time to heal. I haven’t played for over 4 months.

Has anyone had any similar injuries? Any suggestions to speed up the healing process?

I have had good results using homeopathic pills for muscles and tendon / ligament STRAINS and soreness. You can google -
homeopathic muscle strain tendon
and find info.

The ones I've used are Ruta and Rhus . What I've used are in small pill form, and I place 2 under my tongue and let them dissolve. Repeating several times a day. My injuries have been leg, groin, and shoulder - so no experience with neck. A specialty 'health food store', or maybe a vitamin place would be the place to look for homeopathic remedies.

Depending on your diet, you might also benefit from increased protein for healing - either thru regular foods, or supplements such as 'liquid meal replacements' or whey protein powder.
note: I use whey protein powder regularly along with an exercise program. While I CANNOT verify any specific muscle changes attributed solely to the whey - I CAN verify that it makes my finger/toe nails and ear/nose hair grow faster - so it does do something related to tissue growth.

If your injury hasn't gotten any better by now, I'd suggest asking whether further medical tests or imaging might be good to detect a more severe problem than an over-use 'strain'.

That’s a second for going elsewhere. If a muscle strain isn’t better after 4 months, the treatment is NOT working.

Last year I worked with a physiotherapist for a chronic muscular issue in my neck. He also diagnosed a few other issues, based on my posture, walking
, bending over and playing.

Net result was with a set of 6 specific exercises I had better mobility in a week. After 5 visits and the exercises progressed, I was set and have not had to return again. (Must be why is the physio for one of our national women’s sports teams!)

Have a chat to some sports people and get a referral to a GOOD physio!

where do you live?
in some cases, depending on the kind of injury (and i don't know if it's your case), dry nailing is very efficient.
don't increase your protein ratio, it'll only increase your acidifiaction, while you need to alcalinize your tissues and bring them basificant micronutriments.
