Hello everyone and Happy New Year. I have a question I'm hoping someone on here can answer for me. Does the Curry DE cup and Star cup(7 star to be exact) have the same throat size? And also is it, higher the number smaller the throat, lower the number bigger the throat? Thanks.

From Mark's website:
Throats
Trumpet Standard Bore .1455" (3.7mm) This may be classified as a “loose #27 drill.” It allows a #27 reamer to pass easily through the throat after plating. Smallest Bore available is #29 .136" (3.45 mm). All “B” cups are a standard #26 bore. BC cup mouthpieces are a #24 bore. Z and XS cups (December 2008) now come standard with a #28 throat and 50S backbore (High Compression format). These newer models have a dot (.) after the size, i.e. "5Z."
So the answer to you question is "a loose 27 drill." |

The Star cup will feel tighter because of the more abrupt throat entrance. _________________ The name I go by in the real world is Joe Lewis |
