I have an old Reunion Blues triple case sitting in my closet that I think has potential. It is very dusty and scratched, but it is so old and retro-looking that I think it would be cool to use again.

Can anyone recommend a product that you've used successfully in the past to restore a shine and suppleness to old leather?

If you have a cat, just be careful with mink or neats foot oil. I used that on an old trumpet case several years ago, and my cat would not leave that case alone.

Animal oils can become rancid. I use Saphir Renovateur. To remove years of buildup, you can start with Saphir Reno'Mat first.

I have always used Pecard leather treatment, especially on military leather. Softens and waterproofs.

Good stuff.

Most if not all of these methods will work. You want to be careful of getting the leather too soft.

Not all "saddle soap" is the same. I use Fiebing's glycerine saddle soap. Much milder than the Kiwi stuff.
