Haven't told us what it's called, what makes it different, or anything... They just posted this video with Mike Sachs saying a sentence about the horn. Either way, all aboard the hype train! *choo chooo*

Sure looks like it will be the 190/50th anniversary version with the 2 piece valve casing and a little retro influence _________________ Andrew Fowler

I've played the 190 37 and 190 43's. IMHO, they are consistently great horns. Remind me of really good Mt. Vernons or early Elkharts. Ease of play and the sound!
If the new C's are as good as the 190 Bbs, Bach is entering a new golden age vintage. _________________ Tom

I had the chance to play a few of these horns in Mesa, AZ on Saturday. They are GREAT! If you are going to the NAMM show, make sure you swing by the Bach booth and try them out. Fantastic horns. _________________ Josh Coffey

My guess: a 190 version of the CL 229/25H. The whole 190 series is outstanding. I would love a 19043 Bb and Artisan C. Though it would be really cool if they made a 190 CL 239/25A. _________________ 1981 Bb Bach Stradivarius 37/25 ML raw - Laskey 60C

It has a 229 bell and a 25M leadpipe. |

It is a 190 series! 25M pipe and 229 bell is correct. _________________ Josh Coffey

What's a 25M pipe? A Google search gave me no usable results. _________________ -Tom Hall-

My guess: 25M, M stands for Michael Sachs since they have 25S leadpipe already.
Is the 25M going to be an upgraded version of 25H with better intonation and control? |

Looks to be a good horn, but I'm curious how this statement can be made:
"The Bach C190 series trumpets have truly defined the sound of symphonic brass in symphony orchestras throughout the world."
How is this possible when almost nobody has one? _________________ -Tom Hall-

We will have several of these at Thompson Music in the next few days.
• Newly designed #25 M leadpipe provides stability of intonation and slotting of notes
• The regular weight #229 yellow brass bell with enhanced engraving has focused projection with the ability to color the sound
• The two-piece valve casing offers better feedback to the player and more overtones in the sound
• Vincent Bach “Symphonic Series” 1 ½ C mouthpiece, S6511HC4, (24 throat and 24 backbore)
• Throwback shop warranty card included as a tribute to how Vincent Bach documented his Mt. Vernon horns
• .462” large bore tubing
• 3rd slide pin stop
• Sculpted wide footed bracing
• Monel pistons
• Deluxe woodshell case, classic bach case design
*Available as the C190SL229 - Silver-plated or C190L229 - Lacquer |

Got a chance to play it a little bit yesterday at NAMM. It was later in the day and my chops were pretty tired by then but my impression was that I found the Chicago model more responsive. |

I'm mostly interested in how this new 25M leadpipe is different.
Eager to hear some impressions! _________________ 1981 Bb Bach Stradivarius 37/25 ML raw - Laskey 60C

Soooo, if this is such a great horn, why are there all the other special models and the bog standard horns?
Surely if you make improvements to your line via a new (revamped) model, the rest get the same upgrades and you have a better horn and soon enough, more market share?
And how does 'enhanced engraving' focus projection and the ability to colour the sound?
Just like another thread, I am rather sick of blatantly untrue / pointless advertising copy.
cheers

For the same reason you have lightweight Schilkes and brass boat anchors (brand names will be deleted to protect the innocent). Have you played the new Bach C? Because if you have, then feel free to critique it from a position of experience. The fact is, I have, and although I don't play a Bach C and haven't for almost 40 years, I thought the new Bach C played exceedingly well. But the fact that my experience was positive, doesn't mean everyone else's will be. That's why serious players play Bachs, Yamahas, Shires,et al., including those previously unnamed boat anchors. |
