Hello, I am considering to buy Conn 22B USA horn.

It has a serial number with a 5 gap indicating 1995/96.

Mouthpiece is Conn 7C.
Has a hard case.

Horn has lacquer loss and tarnishing all over and there is a reasonable dent at the bell base.

They want $110.

So I wonder if I should I buy it?

I am not sure if 1995 horns are any good or desirable?

Any and all opinions greatly appreciated!
Regards

Bernt.

Well, due to lack of input
I bought it as a project.

All the slides were stuck / seized in as well as the valves.

I managed to get them all loose with heat and penetrating oil.
I will need to solder the finger hook back on.

But apart form that, it seems nice.

Regards

Missed this one the first time.

A 1995 Conn 22B is a student horn. It's probably similar to the student line Kings, since they're both UMI horns.

One of the schools I used to teach at had a few of these as school horns. They seemed solid, well built, and played fine.

$110 for a student horn with dents and lacquer loss is about right as far as value. You didn't get taken, but you didn't get a steal, either.

Thanks for that.
After inspecting it, I negotiated it down somewhat so it did not break the bank.

I am quite happy.

Cheers
