I'm well aware the Kanstul 1525 flugelhorn has top-sprung valves, and that the 1525 has higher list price than the bottom-sprung Kanstul 1025 flugel. But I had a chance to compare a Kanstul 1525 against my bottom-sprung Calicchio Copper flugel, and I preferred my Calicchio.
I'm glad you like your Kanstul. Have fun playing it. _________________ J. Notso Nieuwguyski |

Like/dis-like are a separate issue. Statics/Dynamics/Production-costs were the issue.
It is not always easy to separate emotion from "the math" |

I got a Yamaha 635 which was their step up from the 631/731 and comes default with with the trigger for $800. |
That was a good price. My mentor, Leon Merian, played one of those. I made the mistake of stating, in this forum, that it was designed from the Quesnon. This was when Bobby Shew was still playing Quesnons. He chimed in, and really torched my tail, stating that it was NOT a Queenie clone but a French Besson copy. I had the honor of being personally torched by BS. a lesson learned and an honor held dearly. He didn't switch to Yamaha flugels until the 6310 was developed. (Bobby, please correct me if I am wrong. Humbly Ed K)
PS If I am not mistaken, the current 631G has a trigger as standard equipment |

Well, I'm happy you're happy to have statically or dynamically paid more. I'm sure it feels worth it. _________________ J. Notso Nieuwguyski |
