Excellent book and method. Changed my life. Seriously. Really zoned in on issues I had and corrected them.

I play from it regularly. Terrific book! I have found the "strength studies" section to be particularly useful.

My favourite part about this book is its originality. I can point to a lot of excellent methods and say, "You could substitute ____ and get the same benefit." But it's hard to do that with anything in Daniel's book. That's really impressive for a contemporary book, when most of us would say, "It's all been done."

He also lays out each exercise progressively, with four difficulty levels. He encourages you to stick with a theme for longer and shows how you can modify an exercise as you improve.

I also heard many positive comments about the book. It covers much stuff like air flow, flexibility, range, dynamics, even good phrasing to complete an exercise, it uses articulations, chords, and various rhythms carefully.
To my mind, John Daniel has packed many exercises into his book that will help the diligent player to achieve his or her goals.
