What is particularly galling is knowing that, as I fade into the sunset, this will become standard usage for the masses. And it doesn’t matter what I think.

The other galling point is that I am becoming one of those people I thought were too anal when I was younger.

So...

Do not worry. Their turn will come, too.

I've noticed on radio interviews, people have started answering questions with the word, "so." I think it may be a more modern version of how we used to answer questions by saying, "well..."

The reason it can be bothersome is that it is so often used as a conjunction, so one feels like they have missed part of a thought process and may wonder what came before the "so"?? But I have done it on occasion and it has caused confusion, so I try not to do it, and yet it can be a difficult habit to break.
