|

Hi Folks! First time poster. Glad I found this place. Is there a favorite site that you use to look up sheet music for the horn parts for popular music? I am talking Johnny Cash, Chicago, Lighthouse, Blood Sweat and Tears, etc. Not looking for a rearranged song, but would like to play along with my favorite albums. I also play guitar, and when I think of a song I Google it and it instantly comes up. I tried it for trumpet, and don't seem to find just what I am looking for.
Any advice? Thanks!
(Just an amateur trying to get back into playing, and having fun doing it) |

Welcome, and sorry no one has been able to answer you (yet). Here's a bump because I think—just like we have Sachs's "Orchestral Trumpet" and similar excerpt books—it would be a nice practice resource to have "commercial" excerpts as well.
My suspicion is that music of this sort is more like the old-time "real book" where you have to get it from someone who got it from someone who knows someone.
musicnotes.com has a lot of this (pay per piece though)

And there's some at musescore.com
