I was just watching this the other day! His finesse is incredible.
I played the Pilss Sonata for NTC semis and in my recital my junior year in university. I don't remember the recording I referenced but I interpreted it with a lot more power so it's nice to hear it this way. I played it on C so the intervals were on different notes relatively but getting those leaps that clean is so impressive and no easy task.
Hans Gansch is my favorite trumpeter along with Maurice Andre. Extreme power when needed, luscious beauty otherwise.
