Can any of our European (or more broadly knowledgeable) members share some insights about how the audition process can be different in Europe than what one typically finds in North America?
Specifically, I know that in some countries/cases playing the Haydn on Bb trumpet is required, and I believe I've seen some age-related restrictions (applicants must be under 35, or something like that) in some instances, but I wonder if there are broad patterns I'm not aware of, and that might be illustrative to share?
Thanks! |

Keep in mind that opinions are sometimes unfair judgements based on hearsay, bitterness and limited personal experience generalized to apply for everyone. Don't let that ever stop you! |

Music is so much about cultural tradition that it is hard to give you a definitive answer. You will need to steep yourself in the particular tradition you are interested in to gain a better understanding. _________________ Please join me as well at:
