I really like the Charlier and Longionotti exudes books but want to increase my collection. Any other books out there you would recommend that are similar in style and difficulty progression.

I played the Charlier books almost half a century ago. That's "modern", LOL?
Why thank you.

The Bitsch etudes are a bit more challenging, but worth the work. Verne Reynolds' horn etudes have been transcribed for trumpet, and are also great. Chris Gekker's 24 etudes are fantastic as well. There are tons of others out there, but those are some of my go-tos.

There is also a second Charlier originally written in bass clef but transcribed for trumpet. you can read about it here https://www.hickeys.com/search/products/sku035383.php and see sample pages.

There are so many little known modern trumpet study books. In a few minutes of digging I found:

Bunny Berigan Modern Trumpet Studies

Ernst Friese Modern Studies Books 1 and 2

Freitag's 22 Modern Studies

Mary Vander Woude Pre-Virtuoso Studies

All of the Marinus Komst Books

All of the Ernst Paudert Books

All of the H.Duhem Books

And so many more!

Was that published with a copyright notice? And renewed? f so, we have have another 3 years before it becomes public domain. Anyone know?

I did a cursory search but wasn't able to find much about this work specifically.

Some of these have already been mentioned, but here are a few "modern" advanced etude books that I really like:

Baldwin: Lips of Steel
Brandt: Orchestra Etudes and Last Etudes
Broiles: Studies and Duets I-III
Caffarelli: 16 Etudes
Gates: Odd Meter Etudes
Hering: 24 Advanced Etudes
Hering: 15 Characteristic Etudes
Pietzsch: 22 Virtuosity Studies
Plog: 16 Contemporary Etudes
Porret: 24 Melodic and Progressive Etudes
Reynolds: 48 Etudes
Stevens: Changing Meter Studies
Vacchiano: Advanced Etudes
Vizzutti: Advanced Etudes

Enjoy!

We are fairly sure that this is not actually public domain in the US. Alphonse Leduc still holds the copyright.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the Bordogni - 24 Vocalises or the Sachse studies. Both really good things as well

If you're gonna go there, what about Giuseppe Concone:

In terms of newer etudes, I would definitely recommend:

*David Sampson - Morning Pages (21 Etudes for Trumpet)
*Nathan Ost Lyrical Studies (these are really fantastic)
*Nathan Ost Characteristic Studies
*Snedecor Etudes
