Anyone know how Doc's been doing lately? He's coming up on his 92nd birthday in less than a month and there doesn't appear to be any celebratory performances or appearances related to that that I know of.
According to his website, he has a performance at Elmhurst College tonight. I think he was supposed to be a part of the ITG conference in July, but had to pull out of that for some reason.
Makes we wonder if he's OK and if he'll actually be performing tonight.
Checked Elmhurst's website, the only thing they said about it was that they're moving it indoors due to the threat of inclement weather and it still says that Doc and Byron Stripling will be playing there. |

Doc is doing well. He and Cathy came to my retirement dinner, and each gave a talk. Doc was lively and humorous as usual.
Doc and Cathy will be at ITG in Miami next month. He will be doing a number of things there. There is also a television documentary on Doc that is nearly finished. Film crews have been taping him at various performances during the last year. It will be great, I'm sure.

That's great news. Can't wait to see him at ITG and also can't wait to see that documentary. |
