Dave Bartholomew passed away yesterday at the age of 100. This article at nola.com is a pretty good obituary, but his importance in the music field can not be overstated. Mr. Bartholomew was a fantastic trumpet player, singer, arranger, and producer across many styles of music in addition to being something of a visionary. May he rest in peace.
