Hey James,
I recall that the E3L bell isn't that much different than a Bb bell. Anyway, the old Manhasset stands,(Chrome with adjustable rubber plunger should work. Or maybe the Hercules spider stand. _________________ Christian K. Peters

A Spyder stand is what you want, but they've become hard to find as of late. _________________ Jonathan Vieker

Hamilton or Hercules, or any similar stand with a narrow "snout" and rubber (or whatever) tip should work. Mine fits my Bb K&M stand OK, although I cut a piece of 1" foam to hold the bell up a little bit so it doesn't get stuck; you may have to do the same.

This is a very good stand. Not sure if it fits an Eb, though.
It's designed for in-bell storage but I think it's too heavy for that. If you dropped your case with this in the bell it might do some damage.

I second the Spyder stand. I have the Hercules Travel Lite but it's to tight of a fit. |

I've got the Yamaha 6610S Eb/D and the hercules travel lite fits this horn fine. |

I have the Yamaha 6610 model and I use a spider stand, I like very much when I'm at home, but I think that if you use to travel a lot, maybe the Hercules one can help you more than the spider one. |

The Hercules travel light stand does not fit the Eb tunable bell horns. BUT all you have to do is pull the little yellow rubber ball off the post, take out the post, cut about a 1/4 inch off the post, put it all back together and make sure you glue the ball back on, and TA DA!!!!! A short version for the Eb horn.
I know, smart guy aint I.

The K&M should work fine and if not the Spider Stand is cool for it. I wasn't aware of that issue with the hercules stand, I'll have to check that out. It's a great stand. |

I put my Yamaha 9610 on a Hercules 5-leg stand. The rubber ball on the tip got pulled off and stuck in the bell, so I removed it and put a sock over the stand to protect the bell from scratches, and kept the slack so it's wide enough to stabilize the horn but narrow enough to not get stuck in the bell. |

Those Schilke tuning bell trumpets can be pretty delicate. Be very careful using whatever trumpet stand you get. _________________ Bryan Fields

I have never seen or played a stock E3L that has a bell anywhere close to a Bb either in flare or throat size. I know they used to make the #2 flare you could get as a special order as opposed to the standard #4.
Isn't there a gentleman on the forum that makes trumpet stands out of wood? I thought there was.. he could probably make one that would fit like the K&M ones do. _________________ (List horns here) |

Not sure if you're specifically looking for a stand that stores in the bell but if not, I'd a big fan of the regular hercules stands (not the travel lite ones) with the interchangeable pegs.
The Bb peg is adjustable enough to fit my Bb, C, or D/Eb. Also have a flugelhorn peg and a clarinet peg that I use for my piccolo. I originally bought it because I use a Scherzer piccolo and it's the only stand that's stable enough for the off-set weight of the rotors but I have come to love it for all my horns.
They make a 3 peg base and a single peg base, I have the 3-peg version and will often put one of the legs under my music stand for added stability. _________________ Jonathan Karnes

Anyone with experience with the 'titan' in-bell trumpet stand? They look similar to the K&M 5 peg trumpet stand for a fraction of the price and the design seems to be light weight. I tried using the K&M trumpet stand for my Eb horn and it did not sit properly in the stand. _________________ "You need F-15's..." Joe Biden |

So I had the chance to examine one of the titan trumpet stands and I have to say that they appear to be sturdy. I would say they weight the same, maybe the titan has a little more weight to it. I don't believe that an Eb bell would fit on the titan, however, there was also a clarinet stand that I think would be more suitable. If you check out youtube, Jon Ruff of stomvi does a video about music stands and he states that he cuts a sheet of foam and places it as a buffer for his C tpt. He did this on a K&M stand. You could probably do the same with a few foam cut-outs for the Eb. I may pick-up a titan clarinet stand and use a foam cut-out for my Eb horn. _________________ "You need F-15's..." Joe Biden |
