Does anyone know the Bach 7C Vernon mouthpiece? Differences with the Bach 7C?

Honestly... It depends.

There's no single Bach Mt Vernon 7C (I've seen atleast two radically different cup and rim designs on Mt Vernon 7C pieces).

There's no single post-Mt Vernon 7C either (it's changed several times since then).

So... Which Mt Vernon? And which post Mt Vernon Bach 7C?

So I have one of each.

I found the last generation of 7Cs to have a rather narrow rim with a sharp bite and a deeper bowl shaped cup. My Mt.Vernon has a noticeably wider rim, but feels like the same inner diameter as most 7Cs. The cup had the same shape, but it was marginally shallower. The bite was very forgiving and almost felt like cushion on my plush lips. The cup was textured different in the fact that it had tooling marks. The cups were shaped by hand back then, which is why Mt.Vernons vary so widely in consistency. It’s not terrible that they varied in consistency though. It allowed for some unique pieces to be in circulation and if you get lucky to find one that suits you, it can really change your mind about the “7C”. After all, size is just a number and the feel should out weigh anything that’s stamped on the mouthpiece.

I don't know exactly, it seems narrower and less deep than a 7C.
I think it's from the '60s

All the Mt. Vernon 7Cs I have seen are like that, narrower and less deep. A very different mouthpiece than the later eras. Not sure when the design changed exactly..

Just for information the Schilke 11 started out as a copy of a Mount Vernon 7C used by Bud Herseth. The mouthpiece he played on before he switched to bigger mouthpieces. It sounds a lot like what is being described here. I have never used one but I had a colleague who used one for D trumpet and I tried it out a few times.

I assume you mean Mt. Vernon 7C. I have one as well as a newer Bach 7C. They are totally different from each other. The rims are different the cups are different and the backbores are different.

The Mt. Vernon 7C that I have has a flatter and wider rim and a cup that is a bit more shallow with less undercut.

Hello, I inherited my dad's trumpet and I'm getting ready to list it on the marketplace. It's a Bach Mount Vernon Stradivarius with original case and mouthpiece. This is the mouthpiece, 7CW, can anyone tell me about it? Thanks for the info. Photos here:

It has a wider rim than a 7C but is otherwise the same. The 7CW was popular in the Mt. Vernon era, but not since then.
